NY Times Complicit in FBI Anthrax Coverup

Back in 2001, just months after the anthrax attacks that killed five people, several articles came out in mainstream newspapers that pointed clearly to the CIA and Army as the most likely sources of the weaponized anthrax. Articles in The Baltimore Sun, Miami Herald, Washington Post and New York Times laid out the facts that incriminated Battelle Memorial Labs in West Jefferson, Ohio, and the Army’s lab at the Dugway Proving Grounds in Utah as the only logical sources for the anthrax. These facts, as reported in 2001, include:

1. For over a decade, Army scientists at Dugway have been making weapons-grade anthrax that is “virtually identical” to the anthrax used in the attacks.

2. The anthrax used in the 2001 attacks was extremely concentrated, with a trillion spores per gram. The Dugway anthrax had a similar concentration.

3. The FBI was increasingly focused on US government bioweapons research programs as the source of the deadly anthrax.

4. Both the lab in Utah and the lab in Ohio received anthrax samples from the United States Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) at Fort Detrick, although USAMRIID deals only with wet anthrax and ships it wet.

5. The investigation was focused on the Dugway anthrax, and Dugway was described as the only facility that was known to be weaponizing anthrax.

6. One FBI official said that the CIA’s anthrax was “the best lead we have at this point.”

7. Army officials said that Fort Detrick did not have the equipment for weaponizing anthrax.

The FBI has never explained what became of this initial focus on the labs in Utah and Ohio. Instead, after the death of Fort Detrick anthrax researcher Bruce Ivins in July, 2008, the FBI attempted to make the case that Ivins was the murderer and all other suspects had been cleared of suspicion.

Since Ivins’ death, the media have, with very few exceptions, passively swallowed the line dispensed by the FBI, and have acted as little more than stenographers in parroting the hollow arguments presented by the FBI that Ivins is guilty.

Bush bribed reporters to ask specific questions

The Wall Street Journal editorialized today about the revelation that Obama was looking for specific reporters to call on in the White House press corps:

About half-way through President Obama's press conference Monday night, he had an unscripted question of his own. "All, Chuck Todd," the President said, referring to NBC's White House correspondent. "Where's Chuck?" He had the same strange question about Fox News's Major Garrett: "Where's Major?". . . .

The President was running down a list of reporters preselected to ask questions. The White House had decided in advance who would be allowed to question the President and who was left out. . . .

We doubt that President Bush, who was notorious for being parsimonious with follow-ups, would have gotten away with prescreening his interlocutors.

Former President Bush not only pre-screened his questioners, at least one of them was offered a ride on Air Force One if he asked the question the White House wanted asked. 

Although this story was related to me in 2006, I have held back on revealing it, as my friend Dermot Bennett was still a working journalist at the time.  Now, sadly, Dermot is too sick to work and not expected to recover.  His career will not be harmed by this revelation.

Dermot was a correspondent with Agence France Press.  He related this story to me (rough paraphrase):

I was sitting in the back of the White House briefing room when Tony Snow approached and asked me "How would you like to ride on Air Force One?"  I said "love to," and Tony said "Okay, when the President calls on you, please ask this question." 

And he told me what they wanted asked.

I put my hand up and Bush called on me by first name "Dermot."  I asked exactly the question they gave me and later was told who to contact to arrange for a trip on Air Force One.

Dermot then asked me (Sheila):  "So, you want to go on a ride with me on Air Force One?" 

I hate Bush and didn't want to be near him, so declined. 

Yet more evidence--as if we need it--that our press is utterly corrupt. The goings on in the White House briefing room amount to little more than mutual masturbation.

Obama now appears to be equally afraid of unscripted questions.  New boss, same as the old boss.

"Moving forward" and letting mass murderers go free

Back in the days before I woke up and extricated myself from the matrix, I thought I was well informed because I read The New York Times every day, especially the opinion section. 

I don't read it anymore, although I do glance at their headlines to see what the official spin is on the issues of the day. 

This piece from New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristoff is a stellar example of using a newspaper to spread propaganda.  It has the smell of being worked over by a disinfo committee trying to cram as many lies into one essay as possible. 

I won't dissect every obfuscation, but here are a few:

Kristoff is too smart to be blind to this fact:  Obama wanting to "move forward" and ignore the many crimes of the Bush admin should be a huge red flag to all those trusting, benighted souls who believed we'd turned the page into a new era of enlightened government. 

What criminal doesn't want to move forward and avoid punishment for his sins?  "Never mind about the innocent people I slowly tortured to death, that's in the past." 

What citizen, not to mention government official, should bother to obey the law when those who have taken a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution thumb their noses at it?

Kristof's reference to "Muslim terror groups," tells me he is either completely ignorant or taking orders from someone with a specific agenda. 

I'm not convinced there are any Muslim terror groups.  Whether in Gaza, Afghanistan or Iraq, what I see are desperate people trying to defend their land from vicious invaders with far greater firepower.  The biggest terror groups on the planet are based in Israel and Washington DC. 

As Paul Craig Roberts, former associate editor at the Wall St. Journal, put it in his recent essay The War on Terror is a Hoax: 

What Americans and Israelis call terror is the response of oppressed people who are stateless because their countries are ruled by puppets loyal to the oppressors. These people, dispossessed of their own countries, have no State Departments, Defense Departments, seats in the United Nations, or voices in the mainstream media. They can submit to foreign hegemony or resist by the limited means available to them.

Also, poor people in Africa and Latin America don't need more research into their diseases, so that more pharmaceuticals can be peddled to the third world.  They need help obtaining clean drinking water, wholesome food, a fair price for their labor, and avoiding the toxic chemicals that corporations like to dump in places where they can get away with it. 

Here are a few paragraphs from an essay which surely originated from the so called "intelligence" agencies.  No real journalist with a shred of self-respect would write such dreck.

Putting Torture Behind Us

President Obama is resisting calls for an investigation into torture and other abuses during the Bush years, so the chance to learn from our mistakes is slipping away.

Mr. Obama understandably wants to focus on economic recovery rather than a dissection of the past. Why fritter political capital on an inquest that would antagonize Republicans and imperil our economy and his agenda?

But as George Santayana, the eminent Harvard philosopher wrote: “Those who forget history are destined to repeat it.” Rather than lose forever the chance to grow from our missteps, here’s a two-step proposal for confronting the past without distracting from the work on the economic crisis.

The first step is to appoint a high-level commission — perhaps a McCain-Scowcroft Commission? — to investigate torture, secret detention and wiretapping during the Bush years, as well as to look ahead and offer recommendations for balancing national security and individual rights in the future.

This wouldn’t be a bipartisan commission, with Democrats and Republicans offsetting each other in seething distrust. Rather, it would be nonpartisan, dominated by military and security experts.

It could be co-chaired by Brent Scowcroft and John McCain, with its conclusions written by Philip Zelikow, a former aide to Condoleezza Rice who wrote the best-selling report of the 9/11 commission.

Former Wall St. Journal editor savages the mainstream media

I have a soft spot in my heart for Paul Craig Roberts, as it was reading one of his columns in summer 2007 that got me started investigating 9/11. He is also a frequent contributor to the Rock Creek Free Press, where I am a staff writer. 

Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Reagan and served as associate editor of The Wall Street Journal.

In his January 7 column, Roberts  recommended that we look to non-American sources, such as Haaretz in Israel, or the Asia Times, for unbiased reporting.  He deplored the state of American mainstream media:

Today reporters write the stories that their masters want to hear, or they are out. The function of editors is to make certain that no uncomfortable information reaches the public.

The public is slowly catching on, and the print media is slowly dying. The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and Los Angeles Times are all on the ropes to one extent or the other.

Americans are still subjected to Fox "News" and CNN propaganda piped into airport waiting rooms, doctors’ offices, and exercise centers. It is very much the situation that George Orwell describes in 1984.

But Roberts gave enthusiastic praise to the still little-known, but rapidly growing, Rock Creek Free Press:

Top scientists ask medical journal "Science" to retract original AIDS papers

Thirty-seven doctors, senior researchers and attorneys have asked the journal Science to retract four articles published in 1984 that supposedly established that HIV was the cause of AIDS.  The articles, by a group led by Dr. Robert Gallo, have drawn criticism for some time.  An investigation in the early 90s by the US Department of Health and Human Services concluded that the lead paper was “fraught with false and erroneous statements.” A Congressional Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations produced a staff report on the papers which contains scathing criticisms of their integrity.

Now, new analysis of the documentation behind the papers has revealed even more reason to doubt Gallo’s findings.  The letter refers to “recent revelation of an astonishing number of previously unreported deletions and unjustified alterations made by Gallo…”

Dr. Mikulas Popovic wrote the manuscripts while Gallo was in Europe, but Gallo made handwritten changes to the manuscripts upon his return.  Popovic wrote: "Despite intensive research efforts, the causative agent of AIDS has not yet been identified.”  This sentence was deleted and replaced by a statement that the findings suggest that HIV is the cause of AIDS.

Gallo submitted micrographs to Science that were identified as containing the HIV virus. But just four days before he submitted them, Dr. Matthew A. Gonda, then Head of the Electron Microscopy Laboratory at the National Cancer Institute, wrote a letter to Gallo and Popovic stating that he “does not believe” that the micrographs contain images of HIV.  The micrographs were published in Science on May 4, 1984 and identified as containing HIV. 

These developments add to the mounting body of evidence that the original conclusion that HIV causes AIDS is deeply flawed. 

Thus far there has been no response from Science regarding the request for retraction.

Paid "blog attack" armies flood blogs with comments

As a 9/11 truth activist, I read a fair amount of what is written about 9/11--whether in the mainstream media, the alternative media, or on sites that I have learned to trust.  Frequently the comments are polarized:  those of us who know the awful truth, and another group, much angrier, seemingly younger and much less well educated:  those who are enraged that anyone would even suggest that the government lied to us about 9/11.

Who are these people who are apparently oblivious to the hundreds of well documented lies from the Bush administration?

Here's a clue:  a company that advertises blog armies to "flood the zone with comments from professionals who are ready to put your talking points on the blogosphere 24/7."

Next time you're engaged in a nasty debate with someone who seems to have unlimited amounts of time to rebut your every point in the most scathing way possible, you might just be arguing with a member of one of these paid blog armies.

Compound fractured fairy tale

Once upon a time a child was born in a place called the land of the free and the home of the brave.  She was told that she was very, very lucky to be born in this land, the best country on earth.  In school every morning, her entire class stood, placed their hands over their hearts, and solemnly recited a Pledge of Allegiance to her nation’s flag.  After that the class sang a stirring song about the greatness of this land and its purple mountain’s majesty.  The same songs were heard on Independence Day, and, as the music swelled to a crescendo, she felt both gratitude and pride at being a citizen of such a wonderful land. 

In other countries, rulers did terrible things to their people, but few of their people would hear about it, as the newspapers printed only lies in support of the evil rulers.  That would never happen in her country, Amerika, where the right of free speech had been enshrined for centuries as the first and the most important amendment in the founding documents of the republic.  She learned that although her country had fought in many wars, it was always as either a victim of an unprovoked attack, or as a brave ally to those who were innocent victims. 

The years passed and she lived her life with little regard to the work of her government.  She voted every four years, wearing proudly her “I voted” sticker for the rest of the day.

To be sure, there were disturbing occurrences every now and then.  A president was gunned down in broad daylight on a city street, then later his brother, an influential senator, was killed.  A charismatic leader of the descendants of the slaves was shot and killed at the height of his popularity.  But each time, thanks to quick police work, the lone nuts who committed these deeds were located within hours and punished, making the streets safe once again.

Why I won't vote for Obama

I'm voting tomorrow for Cynthia McKinney of the Green Party. 

No, of course I don't expect McKinney to win.  The CIA controlled media has made sure of that.  They will not allow someone as brave as McKinney, who recognizes 9/11 for the false flag operation it is, to ascend to the highest office in the land -- even though she has values, goals and ideals that are shared by a majority of Americans.

Most voters are still hypnotized by the mantra issuing from the corporate media that we must continue to support the party in power:  the single party that controls this country, bought and paid for by wealthy corporate interests such as Wall Street.

"But I'm voting for Obama," you protest.

Don't be fooled, Obama is the current anointed one for that single party that has been in power for decades now. Some wear red uniforms, some wear blue, one plays the good cop, one plays the bad, and they manage to create such a furor and fuss by tussling and fighting all over the media, that the people are transfixed by the spectacle and fail to notice that both parties want to continue to wage war illegally, continue to spy on us illegally, support the illegal financial dictatorship with Hank Paulson at the helm, and have conspired, with bogus commissions, to cover up the truth about the assassination of JFK and the attacks of 9/11, to name just two cover-ups. 

Our corrupt and complicit media tell us endlessly that we must continue to support this one party, the Dempublicans, or the Reprocrats, because if we don't, our "vote will be wasted."

I've come a long way.  Just two years ago, when the Democrats won a majority in both the US House and the US Senate, I was overjoyed.  I believed we were on the road to real change:  that we'd stop funding the illegal war in Iraq (humorously titled Operation Iraqi Liberation, or O.I.L.), and begin to see accountability in government, including impeachment. 

I began this blog on the eve of the mid-term elections, November 6, 2006, when I urged people to read some columns from The New York Times.  Boy, was I buzzed on the Kool Aid!

RE: Concerning Criticism of the Warren Report

1. Our Concern. From the day of President Kennedy's assassination on, there has been speculation about the responsibility for his murder. Although this was stemmed for a time by the Warren Commission report, (which appeared at the end of September 1964), various writers have now had time to scan the Commission's published report and documents for new pretexts for questioning, and there has been a new wave of books and articles criticizing the Commission's findings. In most cases the critics have speculated as to the existence of some kind of conspiracy, and often they have implied that the Commission itself was involved. Presumably as a result of the increasing challenge to the Warren Commission's report, a public opinion poll recently indicated that 46% of the American public did not think that Oswald acted alone, while more than half of those polled thought that the Commission had left some questions unresolved. Doubtless polls abroad would show similar, or possibly more adverse results.

Yes, the middle class will be destroyed. No, it's not an accident.

Economist and financial guru Karl Denninger has been railing for weeks about the lunacy of the bailout bill and the devastation it will bring to our financial markets.

Here's the key passage from Denninger's post on Market Ticker from Wednesday:

Oil will collapse in price to $20/bbl.  Unfortunately nobody will have any money to buy gasoline, or a car, so it won't matter.  As in The Depression millions of automobiles will be scrapped after being abandoned by their owners for lack of insurance and registration fee money.  Cheap scooters will become the dominant form of transportation for those with jobs, as they will be all most people can afford.

As credit collapses distribution of food and other essentials will break down.  Unable to access credit, trucking companies will be unable to get goods to market.  The current distribution system for food requires travel of over 500 miles from production to consumption; this is untenable in a market where stable credit is unavailable.  Food distribution will be severely impacted and in some areas may break down below critical levels.

Unemployment will reach 25% within two years.  Median income will fall by 30% nationally.  Foreclosures will reach 20 million homes.  The government will step in with HOLC-style remediation but it won't matter - the unemployed won't be able to pay irrespective of the price.

House prices will fall to well under $100,000 nationally on a median basis but with lending all but non-existent you'll need 50% down.  A few people will make out like bandits near the bottom, being able to buy up homes for $10,000 each in blocks of 10 at a time - for cash.  60% of America will be renters; nearly half of all homeowners will ultimately lose their homes to foreclosure.

Civil unrest will break out in major cities when incomes fall but the cost of food and essential services fail to come down materially, leaving millions of Americans hungry, broke and homeless.  Unlike in the 1930s America will not quietly stand in soup lines - instead they will riot, loot and burn.  The National Guard will be called up but will find it impossible to exert meaningful control without shutting down all commerce in the affected areas. The decision will be made to cordon off the cities and deny entry to anyone who does not live in that specific neighborhood, essentially shutting down commercial activity.  GDP will fall by 30%.

George Carlin on how the banksters and NWO are screwing us

Sometime in the last year of his life, George Carlin delivered this stand-up routine to an audience in New York City.  It's not funny.  There is little laughter.  But there is a great deal of truth that you are unlikely to hear from many other sources.

The FBI is going to get away with pinning it on Ivins

The FBI (Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity, ha!) was tasked by our shadow government overlords with finding a semi-plausible fall guy for the anthrax attacks of 2001.  These overlords engineered both the attacks of 9/11, and the anthrax attacks that followed, to create a pretext for a police state in the USA, as well as a semi-plausible pretext for invading Afghanistan and Iraq. 

The FBI has pinned it on the late Dr. Bruce Ivins, but almost nobody believes it.  For the past two days FBI director Mueller, looking like the cat that ate the canary, has been appearing before the Senate and House to answer questions.

Glenn Greenwald wrote about both events in Salon.  Based on his account, I feel certain that the FBI is going to get away with it.

Greenwald paints a picture of a Congress that is so egotistical that the time in the limelight is divvied up so each Congressman or woman gets exactly five minutes.  What this insures is that no progress can be made, since five minutes is just about enough time to ask one or two long, grand-standing questions and one or two long-winded bureaucratic answers.   Every five minutes sees a new questioner, with a new agenda.

Worse, Mueller flat out refused to answer most of the questions.  Although he was given a list of 18 questions on August 8, Mueller did not come prepared to answer them and made no promises about ever answering them.  

This from Greenwald is particularly galling:

Nadler had various good questions about [the silica in the anthrax] -- including wanting to know the level of concentration of silica found in the anthrax (since, if it were higher than 1/2 of 1%, it would mean it was impossible for it to have been naturally absorbed). Mueller's response: I don't know the answers to those questions. I'll have to get back to you at some point.

Nadler than asked one of the most central questions in the anthrax case: he pointed out that the facilities that (unlike Ft. Detrick) actually have the equipment and personnel to prepare dry, silica-coated anthrax are the U.S. Army's Dugway Proving Ground and the Battelle Corporation, the private CIA contractor that conducts substantial research into highly complex strains of anthrax. Nadler asked how the FBI had eliminated those institutions as the culprits behind the attack. After invoking generalities to assure Nadler that the FBI had traced the anthrax back to Ivins' vial (which doesn't answer the question), Mueller's response was this: I don't know the answers to those questions as to how we eliminated Dugway and Battelle. I'll have to get back to you at some point.

After those two fruitless lines of inquiry, Nadler's time was almost up, and he then pleaded: please try to get back to us with these answers quickly. Mueller said: "Oh, absolutely Congressman."

We might as well just disband Congress and admit that we now have a dictatorship that is wholly unanswerable to the people. 

Glen Greenwald edges towards 9/11 truth

It's been interesting to watch the media reaction to the FBI-DOJ lies about Bruce Ivins being the anthrax attacker.  For some reason, it is acceptable to question the government story about anthrax, but not about 9/11.

This might be nothing more than timing:  the death of Ivins and the closing of the anthrax case come at a time when almost everyone with a pulse realizes that we've been swimming in a sea of lies for a long time now.  But these same people, even knowing that the government lies about anything and everything, still will affirm that to doubt the government's story on 9/11 is to be a tin-foil hatted conspiracy nut, living in your Mom's basement, unable to get laid, coping with life only with copious quantities of meds.

In today's post, Glen Greenwald sounds like a truther!  Finally he is beginning to understand the lunacy of labeling anyone who questions the government as a nutcase, since he is now that nutcase:

...here is an Associated Press article from last week, by AP's Matt Apuzzo, purporting to report on what it admits are many "meticulously researched" questions that have been raised (including by me) about the FBI's case, yet repeatedly demonizes such skepticism with these phrases, laced throughout the article: "the ingredients for a good conspiracy theory"; "skeptics and conspiracy theorists"; "armchair investigators, bloggers and scientists"; "one of the great conspiracy theories, like whether we landed on the moon or whether Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone"; "anti-Jewish writers blame the attack on a Zionist plot"; "You can't prove aliens didn't mail the letters."

As always, in Establishment Media World, nothing is more insane or radical than refusing to believe every word the Government says. Even after Iraqi mushroom clouds and the whole litany of Government falsehoods, the establishment hallmark of Seriousness and Sanity is accepting the Government's word. When it says Iraq was behind the attacks, then it was. When they said Hatfill was the culprit, he was. Now that they say that Ivins is, he is, and only "conspiracy theorists" -- comparable to those who disbelieve we landed on the moon -- would question that or demand to see the actual evidence. The FBI is relying, understandably so, on their mindless allies in the media to depict its case against Ivins as so airtight that no real investigation is necessary.

How much longer before it dawns on him that they do tell lies, and they told us the mother of all lies on 9/11?

False Flag Prospects, 2008 -- Top Three US Target Cities

The easiest way to carry out a false flag attack is by setting up a military exercise that simulates the very attack you want to carry out. As I'll detail below, this is exactly how government perpetrators in the US and UK handled the 9/11 and 7/7 "terror" attacks, which were in reality government attacks blamed on "terrorists."

Although ill health keeps me from working as hard in the area of false flag analysis as I used to, the urging of independent editors and brother intelligence officers has prompted me to write this essay. I'll keep it short for readers with limited time, but I will include invaluable links for those who want to delve deeper and understand better.

My aim, as a former military intelligence officer who spent five years with the U.S. Army 75th Division conducting military war games, is to convince the American people that the "next 9/11" -- constantly promised by officials and the media -- is likely to be carried out under the guise of future military exercises. If the American people are aware of pending exercises and the danger they represent, then the exercises cannot "go live" and effect the very terror events that they are supposed to be rehearsing against.

Military Exercises

The 9/11, 2001 attacks in the United States and the 7/7, 2005 attacks in the United Kingdom both have smoking guns proving that the mass murderers were not foreign terrorists but domestic tyrants. Each country's government was conducting military exercises that simulated the exact events that were to occur.

The US 9/11 Commission stumbled across strong evidence of treason by Dick Cheney when it interviewed Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, who was present in Cheney's famous command bunker as Flight 77 sped toward Washington, DC. Cheney was at the center of national military exercises simulating terrorist hijackings of US aircraft -- at the very time that those hijackings were occurring in real life. On May 23, 2003, Secretary Mineta testified:

"During the time that the airplane was coming in to the Pentagon, there was a young man who would come in and say to the Vice President, "The plane is 50 miles out." "The plane is 30 miles out." And when it got down to "the plane is 10 miles out," the young man also said to the Vice President, "Do the orders still stand?" And the Vice President turned and whipped his neck around and said, "Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?"

In the case of the 7/7 London railway bombings, there is same-day evidence in a BBC interview with former Scotland Yard anti-terrorism agent, Peter Power, who was a contract employee working in government exercises:

Mainstream Media

It goes without saying that serious media inquiry would quickly ferret out the facts demonstrating high treason in the cases of 9/11 and 7/7. It also goes without saying, unfortunately, that the traitors behind the two false flag attacks understood this very well, and would not have done what they did without a green light from a collaborative media.

Three World Trade Center buildings collapsed in New York City on September 11, 2001: WTC 1 and WTC 2 (the Twin Towers) in the morning, and WTC 7 (the Salomon Building) at 5:20 p.m. EST. Given that all three buildings were said to be unexpected collapses by all official sources, there is no good reason -- except for complicity -- to explain how it is that the BBC reported the collapse of WTC 7 twenty minutes before it happened:

Fox news damned itself by announcing that WTC 7 had collapsed -- even as it showed a live shot of downtown New York with WTC 7 still standing. A few seconds later the building collapsed, understandably confusing the newscasters:

The owner of all three buildings was Larry Silverstein, who had recently doubled the insurance value of the Twin Towers. Amazingly, "Lucky Larry," later stated in a PBS interview that he and the New York Fire Department agreed to a controlled demolition of WTC 7. Since skyscrapers are not wired for demolition -- unless someone intends to demolish them -- Silverstein's statement is an admission that 9/11 was an inside job:

"The Noble Lie"

I believe that on the strength of the five YouTube links above an objective investigation would have more than enough evidence to warrant impeachment of Bush and Cheney on a charge of high treason, and to summon a grand jury that would indict many others on charges of high treason against Larry Silverstein and other apparent 9/11 collaborators. I believe that the American people, if presented with a single news story containing the five YouTube links above, would demand that the case of high treason be carried to its logical conclusion.

Congress, though, won't impeach the president. The mainstream media, for which I used to write, will not investigate and report the story. The military that was used as a tool to mass murder American citizens will not take action against traitors in uniform who knew exactly what they were doing on 9/11, or the many more uniformed dupes who thought they were conducting military exercises until the events of 9/11 occurred. To this day there have been no adverse actions -- which would require investigation and evaluation -- against any military person involved in what even official apologists call the greatest defense failure in American history. All of this shows that the fix is in, and that we are in a fix.

Conference for Media Reform Goes Halfway with Truth

The National Conference for Media Reform made a good first impression.  It was held in the vast and beautiful Minneapolis convention center.  The press materials and handouts were professionally designed and accurate.  Well known media personalities such as Amy Goodman, Bill Moyers and Naomi Klein were in attendance as speakers.  But the conference pulled its punches and refused to consider the most serious problem confronting our media, i.e., control by the CIA.

The event got off to a rousing start in the main auditorium with speeches from Josh Silver, co-founder and head of Free Press, the organization putting on the conference; Larry Lessig, law professor at Stanford, and Keith Ellison, the only Muslim in the House of Representatives.   There were multiple standing ovations.   

Josh Silver’s best quote was, “we are living in the Matrix and big media is writing the script.”

Lessig delivered a well-rehearsed speech with accompanying slide show that focused on the flaw in our Constitution that allows money to corrupt government.  Lessig’s best quote:  “So long as there is private funding of public elections, corruption will continue.”

Ellison showed the clip of himself with CNN talk show host Glen Beck, where Beck says “I’m tempted to ask you…to prove to me that you’re not a terrorist.”  His best quote, in reference to having people who hate government running the government, was “Vegetarians do not make good steak house chefs.”

Over the next three days, there were dozens of smaller sessions on topics ranging from the corporate media to the WGA to black radio. 

Yet despite all the populist energy and wide-eyed optimism, it gnawed at me that 9/11 was not mentioned.  The only official group questioning 9/11 was Project Censored, the Sonoma State University project that puts out a publication each year on the top 25 most important censored stories.  I heard that panels on 9/11 had been proposed, but turned down because they had done one at the last NCMR in Memphis, and taken flack for it from the corporate media.

So the 2007 conference on media reform upset the corporate media.  “Big mistake,” the conference organizers decided.  “Let’s make sure we don’t do anything to upset them next time!”

I stood in line to ask a question at a panel called “Corporate Confidential,” with Catherine Crier of Cajole Entertainment, Jeff Cohen, founder of FAIR, and Cliff Schecter, author of The Real McCain. 

I tilted the microphone toward my mouth so my voice was loud and clear. 

“I write for a variety of left-leaning publications—Buzz Flash, Common Dreams, the Progressive Populist, Dissident Voice.  But I find that when I write about 9/11, I have a very hard time getting published.  These progressive outlets are certainly no friend of the current administration.  On this particular issue, they are unwilling to question the story the administration has fed to us.  I’ve conducted a comprehensive investigation into all aspects of the official 9/11 story, and have determined that it’s a lie.  Why is the progressive media so unwilling to look at this?”

There was scattered applause and cheers from the audience. 

The Japan Times on 9/11 truther Yukihisa Fujita

This is the kind of article rarely seen in the MSM in the USA.  Momentum is building as more and more public officials come forward to say that the emperor has no clothes.  Here in America, it is still shocking to many people to suggest that both our government and the CIA controlled media have lied blatantly about the most important event of our lifetime. 

Do you doubt that the CIA controls our media?  Google William Colby, former director of the CIA, who said, "The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media." 

 Colby died in a suspicous drowning accident in 1996, just after he had become an editor of an important financial newsletter, Strategic Investment, which covered the Vince Foster "suicide" in detail. Its editors hired three renowned handwriting experts to investigate Foster's suicide note, which hadn't been found when his briefcase was first searched, but later materialized, torn into pieces, with no fingerprints on any of the pieces. Upon comparing this document with others of Foster's writings, these experts declared it was a forgery, and a not very good one at that.

Colby supposedly decided to go canoeing alone one night, without the life jacket he always wore, and left the house unlocked, the computer on, and dinner half-eaten on the table.   His canoe was found on April 27, and although the entire area was searched several times, his body wasn't found until May 6, just 20 yards from where the canoe had been found ten days earlier.

Lawmaker takes 9/11 doubts global

In a September 2003 article for The Guardian newspaper, Michael Meacher, who served as Tony Blair's environment minister from May 1997 to June 2003, shocked the establishment by calling the global war on terrorism "bogus." Even more controversially, he implied that the U.S. government either allowed 9/11 to happen, or played some role in the destruction wrought that day. Besides Meacher, few politicians have publicly questioned America's official 9/11 narrative — until Diet member Yukihisa Fujita.

 

In January 2008 Fujita, a member of the Democratic Party of Japan, asked the Japanese Parliament and Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda to explain gaping holes in the official 9/11 story that various groups — including those who call themselves the "911 Truth Movement" — claim to have exposed.

Fujita, along with a growing number of individuals — including European and American politicians — are leading a charge to conduct a thorough, independent investigation of what happened on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Freeway Blogger Strikes Again

One man, one truck, and a bunch of bungee cords later...300,000 people have heard his message.

He says "if only one person in every city did what I'm doing, you wouldn't be able to drive anywhere without seeing messages (demanding impeachment)." 

But that will never happen.  For there isn't one person in every city who cares enough about the good of ALL of us to give up precious hours when they could be attending to the good of THEMSELVES.

I've also heard about activists who use spraypaint to paint messages such as "9/11 was an inside job" on sidewalks in high-traffic areas. Not that I would support or recommend such activities, heaven forbid!

Even though they have illegally invaded innocent countries, killed over a million innocent Iraqis, illegally tortured so-called "enemy combatants" in Guantanamo Bay, illegally spied on us and destroyed our Constitution, we wouldn't want to mess up a few sidewalks, would we? Above all, we are good citizens. I knew you would agree.

Liberal Media Echo White House 9/11 Talking Points

When BuzzFlash editor and publisher Mark Karlin dipped his toe into 9/11 waters, he got an earful from his readers. In a May 12 blog post, Karlin states unequivocally that “9/11 was not an inside job,” (although he does concede an 80% probability that Flight 93 was shot down over Pennsylvania).

Judging from the comments, his audience was not impressed. Reader after reader tries to set Karlin straight by presenting pieces from the overwhelming mountain of evidence indicating that we were sold a bill of goods about 9/11. So far Karlin has been silent. If he’s reading the reactions to his post, he gives no sign of it.

Buzzflash is a liberal news site that accepts no advertising and prides itself on being an unadulterated alternative to the whorish mainstream media. It pulls no punches in exposing the mind-boggling awfulness of the current administration— with one major exception. Like almost every other liberal outlet, it gives the Bush administration a free pass on 9/11.

The position of BuzzFlash, AlterNet, The Huffington Post, Daily Kos, The Nation, The Progressive and many other liberal outlets seems to be:

• Bush and Cheney stole the 2000 and 2004 elections and are in office illegitimately.
• They lied shamelessly to get us into illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, resulting in the death and injury of millions of innocents.
• They are torturing prisoners at Gitmo in violation of the Geneva Conventions.
• They have decimated the Constitution, abolished habeas corpus, and are in the process of instituting a police state.
• They directed the Justice Dept. to fire US attorneys who were not considered “good Bushies,” and then covered it up by flatly refusing to submit to Congressional oversight.
• They have spied on Americans illegally, reading our emails and listening to our phone calls without a court warrant.
• They let Americans die like rats in the streets of New Orleans and then lied about rebuilding the Gulf coast after Katrina.

They’re evil. They are devils straight from the bowels of hell. But would they kill US citizens and blame it on Osama bin Laden to create a pretext for war to steal oil in the Middle East?
Don’t be ridiculous! They may demonstrate all the wisdom and compassion of Attila the Hun, but surely they wouldn’t murder their ‘own people’ in cold blood. Only wacky conspiracy theorists think that. Certainly not solid, well-established liberal publications like us.

Speaking of 9/11 truthers, Manuel Garcia of Counterpunch (Sep. 9, 2006) makes accusations of “wild theories fueled by paranoia,” and states that “conspiracists” “cannot accept” the real reasons for the attack, and instead must “find comfort” in an irrational hypothesis.

Sure, Manuel. It’s much too scary to believe that we were attacked by bearded men hiding in caves nine time zones away. It’s so much more soothing to believe it was our own government, the nexus of which is located just down the road, and which, at its discretion, can label me a terrorist and lock me up indefinitely. It makes me feel so warm and cozy that I tell it to my kids as their bedtime story.
